About

Still a work in progress,  but here is some info :)

My history/interests:

I was born at Riverside Hospital in Columbus – so yep, I have lived here my whole life! I currently live around Polaris , but will be moving down to Rushville Ohio in a month or so ( hopefully, keep your fingers crossed!)

I graduated from Olentangy High School – go Braves for any of you locals looking! I will be graduating from The Ohio State University on June 14th, 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Design for Interior Space Design.

I love the beach! My family and I always go to North Myrtle Beach every summer in July with another family from Indiana. We have been going for 11 or so years now – every summer… its great! As you can probably see from my blog I have been to the outer banks a couple of times as well and that place is slowly creeping up to be my next favorite beach area.  Here is a small list of some of the beaches I have visited:

North Myrtle Beach, SC

Myrtle Beach, SC

Virginia Beach, VA

Melbourne Beach, FL

Ocracoke Island, NC

Kitty Hawk/ Kill Devil Hills, NC

A beach in Alexandria, Egypt

Cocoa beach, Fl

Alum Creek Beach, OH – its right by my house what can I say!

Fairfield Beach, OH

Lake Erie

Besides the beach love I have – I also just love the outdoors and being around water. I have a kayak and I love to go kayaking during the summer. I live right by Alum Creek right now so it has been great to just jump in my car drive a couple blocks and I am there.  When I move down to Rushville the closest lake is Buckeye Lake – we will see about kayaking on that lake.  Buckeye lake is really choppy, but I am hoping that during the mornings it will not be to bad.  I am a big fan of hiking to down around Old Man’s Cave in the Hocking Hills area. Rush Creek Lake by my house is also turning into one of my favorite locations to bike to, run on the road and hopefully kayak soon!

I just got a puppy in July of 2010 – any tips of training would be lovely! :)

My camera history:

I have always liked cameras – I had a little camera first that you just popped the film in and wow it worked haha. I never liked disposable camera’s to much unless it was for a homecoming/prom dance – then it was “totally cool” to have a disposable.  Then I remember asking my parents for christmas or my birthday for a camera where you actually have to load the film like theirs… and that is probably what started it. That camera lasted for awhile – then digital happened.. oooh the excitement! I was so proud of myself for finding THE perfect point and shoot camera that had the best megapixels, digital and optimum zoom for the best price.  It still works great – I use it when I am out with friends or small family/friend functions. I always bring it on vacations with me because well that just fits in my purse better!

Of course in there I played with some film SLR’s ( the big camera’s haha) and learned to do my own film development and learned how to work in a dark room.  I really do have a love for film – digital is amazing, but there is just something about film and working in the dark room that is great.  I would love to get back into working in the dark room again and making my own prints.

Back to my story – I then graduated to Digital SLR cameras.  I always knew I wanted to be a Nikon person – so my first DSLR was the Nikon D40X – cute camera, worked well for what I needed at the time.  I then went to the D300 – I fell in love with that camera almost immediately - It was gorgeous!  Then, finally, I have come to the D700.  It is an amazing camera and I love it to death.

I have come a long way from my little film camera that you just drop the film in and it magically loads the film all by itself.  It has been a fun little journey and one that I know will continue to keep growing as the camera technology improves over the coming years.
